Few Re-enfranchised VA Former Felons Registering to Vote

This is unsurprising, but still depressing and may represent a missed opportunity.

I see this of a piece with the well-substantiated fact that political participation skews wealthier and more conservative, and that there is a non-participating population that is, on average, poorer, more liberal, and large enough to be capable of pushing the whole electorate to the left and affecting political outcomes--if only we could get them to vote.
